Urban Beautification Demonstration Project
Transit Route Landscaping Solano Ave to Garfield Ave, Albany CA
Improvements Sponsored by Bay Area Rapid Transit District and U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development

"To demonstrate how a portion of the aerial structures could be made more useful and beautiful, the District, with a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, established this 2.7 mile parkway project in the cities of Albany and Cerrito. The parkway included meandering pedestrian walks, focal points, and activity centers, alongside treatment of parking areas and pedestrian circulation spaces and entrances at El Cerrito del Norte station. Landscape architects were Sasaki, Walker Associates, Inc. of Sausalito." - May 1968. San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District Linear Parkway. Sasaki, Walker Associates, Inc. WRM
